Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.22% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Elval (AT:VAL), which rose 16.96% or 0.19 points to trade at 1.31 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 16.81% or 0.20 points to end at 1.39 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 12.39% or 0.43 points to 3.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which lost 30.00% or 0.084 points to trade at 0.196 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 29.70% or 0.030 points to end at 0.071 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) shed 29.65% or 0.067 points to 0.159.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 35 and 3 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.50 to $1091.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.90% or 0.86 to hit $46.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.53 to trade at $50.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0966, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7021.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 97.45.
