Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr), which rose 7.00% or 0.21 points to trade at 3.21 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) added 2.89% or 0.32 points to end at 11.40 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 2.12% or 0.08 points to 3.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which lost 10.00% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.46 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 8.48% or 0.019 points to end at 0.205 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) shed 7.69% or 0.1300 points to 1.5500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 33 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.29% or 3.60 to $1219.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.54% or 0.20 to hit $36.59 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.01% or 0.39 to trade at $38.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.7970.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 94.56.
