Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which rose 4.70% or 0.031 points to trade at 0.691 at the close. FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 3.80% or 0.130 points to end at 3.550 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 2.54% or 0.030 points to 1.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 6.93% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.094 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 6.00% or 0.009 points to end at 0.141 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 4.84% or 0.009 points to 0.177.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 31 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.81% or 9.85 to $1230.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.89% or 0.48 to hit $53.35 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.68 to trade at $56.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.0737, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8622.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 100.04.
