Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Food, Telecoms and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which rose 7.65% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.366 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) added 4.00% or 0.01 points to end at 0.26 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 4.00% or 0.017 points to 0.442 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 5.86% or 0.042 points to trade at 0.675 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 3.57% or 0.070 points to end at 1.890 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) shed 3.42% or 0.012 points to 0.339.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 44 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.75% or 21.60 to $1214.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.55% or 1.36 to hit $36.98 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 3.97% or 1.60 to trade at $38.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1353, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.8006.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 94.94.
