Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.64% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.216 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 9.17% or 0.110 points to end at 1.310 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 5.75% or 1.00 points to 18.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 9.17% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.109 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 6.53% or 0.0160 points to end at 0.2280 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 5.83% or 0.013 points to 0.210.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.52% or 6.50 to $1252.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.50% or 0.64 to hit $43.17 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 0.84 to trade at $45.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1160, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.21.
