Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 10.49% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.158 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 9.40% or 0.014 points to end at 0.163 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 5.61% or 0.060 points to 1.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which lost 6.38% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.308 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 4.92% or 0.57 points to end at 11.02 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) shed 4.46% or 0.0700 points to 1.5000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 39 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.15% or 1.80 to $1236.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.16% or 0.90 to hit $40.81 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 0.69 to trade at $42.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1323, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7935.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.43.
