Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Banking and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 6.83% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.219 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 6.43% or 0.2700 points to end at 4.4700 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 5.45% or 0.024 points to 0.464 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 4.05% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.420 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 3.70% or 0.002 points to end at 0.052 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 3.36% or 0.075 points to 2.155.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 41 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.41% or 17.59 to $1230.91 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.72% or 1.30 to hit $46.52 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.52% or 1.28 to trade at $49.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.0939, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8476.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 98.90.
