Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 3.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 27.47% or 0.12 points to trade at 0.58 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 27.19% or 0.031 points to end at 0.145 and Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) was up 26.92% or 0.007 points to 0.033 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iaso (AT:IASr), which lost 9.52% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.570 in late trade. Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) declined 6.08% or 0.48 points to end at 7.42 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) shed 4.55% or 1.00 points to 21.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 21 and 5 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.33% or 3.60 to $1089.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.68% or 0.76 to hit $44.39 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.47 to trade at $49.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.7040.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 97.96.
