Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Household, Banking and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 3.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which rose 15.52% or 0.043 points to trade at 0.320 at the close. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) added 10.23% or 0.009 points to end at 0.095 and Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) was up 9.30% or 0.004 points to 0.047 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which lost 5.25% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.325 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 3.65% or 0.03 points to end at 0.87 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 3.29% or 0.023 points to 0.677.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 25 on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.42% or 17.00 to $1177.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.66% or 0.96 to hit $56.78 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.18 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0866, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.7166.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 97.09.
