Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 2.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 8.62% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 7.45% or 0.012 points to end at 0.173 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.87% or 0.036 points to 0.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iaso (AT:IASr), which lost 1.39% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.495 in late trade. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 1.28% or 0.030 points to end at 2.310 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) shed 0.70% or 0.050 points to 7.130.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 17 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.06% or 0.75 to $1254.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.89% or 0.90 to hit $48.63 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 0.95 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0857, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8678.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 99.08.
