Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.52% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Intracom Hold (AT:INRr), which rose 8.65% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.339 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) added 7.53% or 0.007 points to end at 0.100 and Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) was up 6.77% or 0.09 points to 1.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which lost 6.00% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.47 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 4.17% or 0.01 points to end at 0.23 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) shed 3.01% or 0.09 points to 2.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 34 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.09% or 13.90 to $1258.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.53% or 0.58 to hit $38.42 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.22 to trade at $40.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1162, while EUR/GBP fell 0.87% to 0.7759.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.12.
