Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 14.04% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.130 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 9.69% or 0.0220 points to end at 0.2490 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 8.70% or 0.044 points to 0.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which lost 2.10% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.400 in late trade. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 1.90% or 0.007 points to end at 0.362 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) shed 1.02% or 0.020 points to 1.940.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 27 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 2.42% or 29.35 to $1241.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.22% or 0.60 to hit $48.57 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.59 to trade at $49.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.63% to 1.1335, while EUR/GBP rose 0.94% to 0.7805.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.53% at 94.10.
