Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Travel and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 9.73% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 8.67% or 0.052 points to end at 0.657 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 6.38% or 0.033 points to 0.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 5.62% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.319 in late trade. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 2.64% or 0.021 points to end at 0.773 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 2.50% or 0.004 points to 0.155.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 37 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.68% or 8.25 to $1207.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.64% or 0.87 to hit $52.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 0.76 to trade at $55.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0554, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8684.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 102.05.
