Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.76% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which rose 13.64% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.175 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 10.37% or 0.014 points to end at 0.149 and Elgeka (AT:ELGr) was up 9.57% or 0.020 points to 0.229 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which lost 6.14% or 0.24 points to trade at 3.67 in late trade. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 4.20% or 0.06 points to end at 1.37 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) shed 3.94% or 0.08 points to 1.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 47 and 6 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.73% or 19.30 to $1136.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.88% or 1.35 to hit $45.55 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.58% or 0.78 to trade at $48.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.1364, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7294.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 94.88.
