Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Retail and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.79% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.157 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 7.72% or 0.044 points to end at 0.614 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 5.11% or 0.009 points to 0.185 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iaso (AT:IASr), which lost 7.51% or 0.037 points to trade at 0.456 in late trade. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) declined 3.75% or 0.520 points to end at 13.360 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) shed 3.59% or 0.018 points to 0.483.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 43 and 26 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.35 to $1238.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.54% or 0.29 to hit $54.07 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.41 to trade at $56.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0621, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8520.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 100.84.
