Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Telecoms and Household sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Folli Follie (AT:HDFr), which rose 5.26% or 0.95 points to trade at 19.00 at the close. Jumbo (AT:BABr) added 5.06% or 0.360 points to end at 7.480 and Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) was up 4.58% or 0.35 points to 7.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dromeas (AT:DROr), which lost 12.88% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.115 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 8.29% or 0.85 points to end at 9.40 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 7.77% or 0.024 points to 0.285.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 38 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.23% or 2.60 to $1122.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 6.99% or 2.70 to hit $41.30 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 6.53% or 2.81 to trade at $45.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.1233, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.7300.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 95.84.
