Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Travel, Utilities and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.65% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Intracom Hold (AT:INRr), which rose 5.26% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 4.29% or 0.010 points to end at 0.243 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) was up 3.77% or 0.090 points to 2.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 3.14% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.540 in late trade. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 2.97% or 0.015 points to end at 0.490 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 2.94% or 0.040 points to 1.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 47 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.37% or 4.65 to $1249.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.60% or 0.79 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.59 to trade at $53.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.0736, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.8594.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 99.93.
