Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Resources and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.43% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr), which rose 5.18% or 0.47 points to trade at 9.55 at the close. Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) added 3.70% or 0.110 points to end at 3.080 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 3.42% or 0.040 points to 1.210 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 8.22% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.201 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 5.65% or 0.070 points to end at 1.170 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) shed 2.97% or 0.013 points to 0.424.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 37 and 27 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.33 to $1228.93 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.93% or 0.88 to hit $46.40 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 0.95 to trade at $49.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0984, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8478.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 98.58.
