Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Travel and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 5.04% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.125 at the close. Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) added 4.94% or 0.0400 points to end at 0.8500 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was up 3.32% or 0.245 points to 7.635 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which lost 9.58% or 0.68 points to trade at 6.42 in late trade. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 6.25% or 0.280 points to end at 4.200 and Reds (AT:CAMr) shed 4.02% or 0.013 points to 0.310.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 45 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.65 to $1318.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.62% or 0.27 to hit $44.13 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.10 to trade at $46.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8620.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.90.
