Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Household, Retail and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 9.18% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.107 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 9.11% or 0.051 points to end at 0.611 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 8.19% or 0.014 points to 0.185 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which lost 5.86% or 0.310 points to trade at 4.980 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 5.00% or 0.63 points to end at 11.97 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) shed 3.21% or 0.09 points to 2.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 41 and 28 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.25 to $1199.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.89% or 0.44 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.51 to trade at $51.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.0658, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.8766.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 101.50.
