Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.46%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which rose 1.98% or 0.26 points to trade at 13.13 at the close. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) added 1.20% or 0.62 points to end at 52.47 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 0.69% or 0.039 points to 5.721 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which lost 2.16% or 0.71 points to trade at 32.23 in late trade. Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) declined 1.30% or 0.39 points to end at 29.71 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) shed 1.27% or 2.45 points to 190.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which rose 2.02% to 4.996, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was up 1.98% to settle at 13.13 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which gained 1.58% to close at 8.76.
The worst performers were Edenred (PA:EDEN) which was down 2.84% to 20.50 in late trade, SES (PA:SESFd) which lost 2.37% to settle at 20.40 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was down 2.16% to 32.23 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 412 to 264 and 119 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.26% to 19.83.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.05 to $1256.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.29% or 0.65 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.61 to trade at $51.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0995, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.90.
