Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Investment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP rose 1.87% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Ecopetrol SA (CN:ECO), which rose 6.59% or 85.0 points to trade at 1375.0 at the close. Bancolombia Pf (CN:BIC_p1) added 3.49% or 920.0 points to end at 27260.0 and Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p) was up 2.94% or 60.0 points to 2100.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp (CN:PRU), which lost 10.85% or 235.0 points to trade at 1930.0 in late trade. Cemargos (CN:CCB) declined 0.51% or 60.0 points to end at 11700.0 and Celsia SA (CN:CEL) shed 0.51% or 20.0 points to 3870.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 4 and 2 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for May delivery was up 1.18% or 1.45 to $124.53 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in July rose 0.65% or 19.00 to hit $2931.00 , while the June Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1256.90 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was down 1.11% to 3020.00, while BRL/COP fell 1.00% to 864.69.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 93.99.
