Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.11% or 0.48 points to trade at 44.03 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.71% or 0.080 points to end at 11.390 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.62% or 0.14 points to 23.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 2.12% or 0.47 points to trade at 21.52 in late trade. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 1.87% or 1.03 points to end at 53.91 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 1.21% or 0.40 points to 32.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.61% or 8.20 to $1341.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.74% or 1.70 to hit $47.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 3.46% or 1.66 to trade at $49.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1251, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8462.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.05.
