Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.24% or 0.35 points to trade at 28.52 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.04% or 0.505 points to end at 49.185 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.66% or 0.24 points to 36.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delhaize Group (BR:DELB), which lost 2.08% or 1.96 points to trade at 92.33 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 1.92% or 0.200 points to end at 10.225 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 1.23% or 0.52 points to 41.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 52 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.31% or 3.95 to $1276.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.99% or 1.38 to hit $47.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.45% or 1.17 to trade at $49.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1330, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.7864.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.47.
