Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Food Producers, Software & Computers and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 1.44% or 0.44 points to trade at 30.96 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.07% or 0.85 points to end at 80.26 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.86% or 0.83 points to 97.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 4.70% or 1.25 points to trade at 25.44 in late trade. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) declined 1.82% or 0.12 points to end at 6.58 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) shed 1.13% or 1.00 points to 87.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 57 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.40 to $1081.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.23% or 0.93 to hit $40.82 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.45 to trade at $44.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.92% to 1.0716, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.7049.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.73% at 99.28.
