Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Software & Computers, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BRU:TNET), which rose 5.66% or 2.97 points to trade at 55.46 at the close. D'Ieteren (D) (BRU:IETB) added 3.52% or 1.175 points to end at 34.565 and Belgacom (BRU:BCOM) was up 2.80% or 0.94 points to 34.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colruyt (D) (BRU:COLR), which lost 0.08% or 0.04 points to trade at 43.32 in late trade. GDF Suez (PARIS:GSZ) added 0.26% or 0.05 points to end at 19.37 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) gained 0.35% or 0.40 points to 114.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 57 and 5 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.71% or 8.60 to $1194.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.10% or 0.63 to hit $57.95 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.28 to trade at $63.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.0762, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.7217.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 97.97.
