Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.80% or 0.210 points to trade at 11.850 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.84% or 0.17 points to end at 20.94 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.79% or 0.420 points to 53.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 1.06% or 0.355 points to trade at 33.075 in late trade. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) declined 0.77% or 0.90 points to end at 116.50 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) shed 0.47% or 0.12 points to 24.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 70 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.55 to $1267.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.89% or 0.98 to hit $50.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 1.12 to trade at $51.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.0934, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 98.24.
