Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Software & Computers and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Colruyt (D) (BRU:COLR), which rose 1.03% or 0.45 points to trade at 43.77 at the close. Telenet Group (BRU:TNET) added 0.97% or 0.54 points to end at 56.00 and Ageas (BRU:AGES) was up 0.95% or 0.325 points to 34.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Befimmo-Sicafi (BRU:BEFBb), which lost 1.07% or 0.700 points to trade at 64.940 in late trade. Elia (BRU:ELI) declined 1.03% or 0.425 points to end at 40.805 and KBC (BRU:KBC) shed 0.78% or 0.450 points to 57.540.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 71 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.51% or 6.10 to $1199.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.57% or 0.33 to hit $57.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.58 to trade at $62.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0774, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.7200.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 97.89.
