Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 1.05% or 0.360 points to trade at 34.550 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.90% or 0.460 points to end at 51.420 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was up 0.86% or 0.090 points to 10.585 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 10.44% or 5.71 points to trade at 49.01 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.50% or 0.60 points to end at 39.71 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) shed 0.92% or 0.85 points to 91.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 64 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.55 to $1269.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.52% or 0.76 to hit $49.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.52% or 0.77 to trade at $49.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1295, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7693.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 93.82.
