Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.80% or 1.15 points to trade at 65.20 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.65% or 0.45 points to end at 27.65 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.61% or 0.68 points to 43.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 0.01% or 0.005 points to trade at 41.485 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.09% or 0.04 points to end at 43.00 and KBC (BR:KBC) gained 0.39% or 0.280 points to 71.210.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 36 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.66% or 8.30 to $1265.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $57.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.08 to trade at $63.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1799, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 93.12.
