Mercantile Islami Insurance PLC operates as an insurance company in Bangladesh. The company operates through Fire, Marine, Motor, and Miscellaneous segments. It offers industrial all risks, marine cargo, motor, personal accident, marine hull, contractors all risk, travel, aviation, tsunami and earthquake, business interruption and machinery break down, money, counter and ATM booth, riot and strike damage, erection all risk, fire, and explosion insurance, as well as health insurance, including overseas mediclaim insurance. Further, it provides miscellaneous insurance, such as workmen’s compensation, burgalary, all risk, cash-in-safe, cash-in-transit, cash-on-counter, cash in ATM, employer’s liability, fidelity guarantee, deterioration of stock, product liability, third-party liability, public liability, operational package, poultry, and business interruption insurances; and engineering insurance, including erection all risk, machinery breakdown, boiler and pressure vessel, and contractor plant and machinery insurance. The company was formerly known as Mercantile Insurance Company Limited and changed its name to Mercantile Islami Insurance PLC in May 2023. The company was incorporated in 1996 and is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
