Thomas Cook plans hotel hygiene checks after Egypt deaths

(Reuters) - British holiday company Thomas Cook Group Plc (L:TCG) said it plans an independent hygiene assessment at any property where some customers fell sick last summer, following the deaths of two British tourists in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada in August.

The tour operator said in a statement https://www.thomascookgroup.com/blog/details/our-hotel-hygiene-programme on Tuesday that the new checks would look at food safety and hygiene issues and will focus on the prevention of contagious infections.
