(Reuters) -British electricals retailer Currys said on Wednesday European Economic Area regulator has started investigating its Nordic units for possible violation of competition rules in Norway.

The retailer, previously known as Dixons Carphone (LON:CURY), said it does not believe that the two units - Elkjøp Nordic AS and Elkjøp Norge - had infringed any competition rules and would cooperate with EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA).

Separately, ESA said it was investigating whether Elkjøp had violated rules while securing exclusive access to some electronic goods.

"The investigation will also look into arrangements where specific competitors have been denied access to certain electronic goods," ESA said in a statement.
