Engie to invest up to 4 billion euros in Belgium to boost renewables

PARIS (Reuters) - French energy company Engie plans to invest up to 4 billion euros ($4.3 billion) in Belgium by 2030, the company announced on Thursday, with renewable power generation, mainly wind power, identified as a priority.

The firm, which also runs Belgium's nuclear plants and has close to 3 million customers in the country, said it is targeting installing wind power capacities of 2 gigawatts, split evenly between onshore and offshore projects.
