Elon Musk Calls For Race Between EV And Hybrid Vehicle While At Miami Grand Prix, Twitter Users Quickly Correct Him
Benzinga - Over the weekend, Twitter CEO Elon Musk was spotted at Red Bull's Formula One paddock ahead of the Miami Grand Prix. And in response to a tweet from ESPN on Saturday, the billionaire entrepreneur called for a race between a pure EV and a hybrid vehicle.
Fun discussion of aero & battery technology in F1.
I proposed a pure EV vs gas/hybrid F1 race.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 6, 2023Following Musk’s tweet, many people pointed out that single-seater electric racing is already around.
There’s already a pure EV racing series under the FIA. Unfortunately not nearly as exciting as F1 atm.F1 should be spectacular, like launching a rocket. IMO, bring back the V12s :)

There's already Formula E. It's incredibly boring as there's virtually nothing to tweak, so it's just a line of cars going around a track perfectly spaced.Musk wasn't the only one to visit the paddock — Oracle's Larry Ellison and Amazon's Jeff Bezos were also spotted.— Per-Anders Edwards (@per_anders) May 6, 2023
Jeff Bezos is on the McLaren pit wall, and will be with them for the rest of the weekend.Twitter CEO Elon Musk is with Red Bull for this weekend as well.
