WARSAW (Reuters) - Polish energy suppliers will have to cut electricity prices for households by 12% retrospectively from January 2023, the government said on Monday.

"Due to the Senate blocking a bill that assumed a 5% reduction in electricity prices, the government decided to introduce a solution in which energy sellers would grant households a discount of over 120 zloty ($27.76)," State Assets Minister Jacek Sasin wrote on social media platform X.
