Irish annual inflation rate bounces back to 4-month high of 0.4 percent

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Irish consumer prices increased by 0.4 percent on an annual basis in August, the fastest rate reported since April, data showed on Thursday.

Consumer prices also rose 0.4 percent on a monthly basis in August, after a decrease of 0.2 percent the previous month. Prices were unchanged on an annual basis in July.

Ireland has been the European Union's fastest growing economy for three years, but inflation has remained broadly flat over the period.
