In what was a relatively quiet week for individual shares, meme stocks were again in focus and none more so than cinema chain AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC). The company started the week off with a bang, rising 15% on Monday. Shares hit a high on Friday of $64.96 before closing the week slightly off the highs at $59.26.
Jet engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce (LON:RR) had a mixed week as hopes of a booming summer tourism season keep getting quashed. However, there was a glimmer of hope on Thursday after reports that the UK government may allow fully vaccinated passengers to avoid quarantine restrictions from amber list countries when they return. Shares opened the week at 112.00 pence, hit a high of 113.48 pence on Thursday before closing the week at 107.52 pence.
BP shares were in focus after oil prices hit multiyear highs in the early part of the week amid an improving demand outlook. However, a relatively hawkish Fed saw the USD strengthen and weigh on crude prices on Thursday. BP (LON:BP) shares opened the week at 325.10 pence before hitting a high 336.95 pence on Wednesday. Shares declined to close the week at 315.40 pence.
Shares in Synairgen (LON:SYNG) opened the week at 152.50 pence before rallying on Tuesday. Shares hit a high of 180.60 pence on Thursday before falling towards the end of the week and closing at 161.00 pence.

Eurasia Mining (LON:EUA) shares opened at 22.50 pence and declined on the first three trading days of the week. Shares hit a low of 18.50 pence on Thursday before rebounding slightly and closing the week at 22.00 pence.
