United Arab Emirates shares mixed at close of trade; DFM General down 0.56%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.56%, while the ADX General index gained 0.26%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which rose 2.75% or 0.110 points to trade at 4.110 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) added 2.50% or 0.015 points to end at 0.615 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 1.90% or 0.020 points to 1.070 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV), which lost 2.72% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.790 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 2.67% or 0.050 points to end at 1.820 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) shed 2.28% or 0.014 points to 0.601.

The top performers on the ADX General were Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which rose 11.51% to 4.07, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 6.15% to settle at 0.725 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which gained 1.94% to close at 0.5780.

The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.52% to 0.570 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 3.95% to settle at 0.9000 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 1.98% to 7.91 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 10 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.24% or 0.92 to $73.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.47% or 1.24 to hit $82.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 8.20 to trade at $1197.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.46% to 4.2129.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 95.65.
