Sweden shares higher at close of trade; OMX Stockholm 30 up 0.45%

Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIb), which rose 14.73% or 12.7 points to trade at 99.1 at the close. Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB A (ST:SEBa) added 4.77% or 4.34 points to end at 95.24 and SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa) was up 3.53% or 1.20 points to 35.20 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb), which lost 1.51% or 2.45 points to trade at 160.00 in late trade. AB SKF B (ST:SKFb) declined 1.05% or 1.6 points to end at 154.8 and Tele2 AB (ST:TEL2b) shed 1.00% or 1.15 points to 114.40.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 352 to 283 and 54 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.89% or 1.54 to $54.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.96% or 1.20 to hit $62.40 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1309.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/SEK was up 0.16% to 10.3800, while USD/SEK rose 0.28% to 9.0929.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 95.613.
