Sri Lanka shares lower at close of trade; CSE All-Share down 0.35%

Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.35%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) was up 16.25% or 65.00 points to 465.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which lost 23.01% or 8.10 points to trade at 27.10 in late trade. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) shed 7.69% or 0.100 points to 1.200.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 79 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.62% or 0.42 to $68.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.77% or 0.59 to hit $77.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1198.90 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was up 0.14% to 209.850, while USD/LKR rose 0.17% to 162.310.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.30.
