Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Trading and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.06% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 25.00% or 0.100 points to 0.500 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which lost 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) shed 10.83% or 8.50 points to 70.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.35% or 0.89 to $66.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.46% or 1.06 to hit $73.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1203.30 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.33% to 205.835, while USD/LKR fell 0.46% to 159.870.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 95.07.
