Israel shares lower at close of trade; TA 35 down 2.07%

Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Biomed, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 declined 2.07% to hit a new 3-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA), which rose 1.87% or 360 points to trade at 19580 at the close. Leumi (TA:LUMI) added 0.25% or 6 points to end at 2415 and Airport City Ltd (TA:ARPT) was unchanged 0.00% or 0 points to 4774 in late trade.

Biggest losers included OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which lost 14.36% or 171 points to trade at 1020 in late trade. Perrigo (TA:PRGO) declined 5.10% or 1080 points to end at 20100 and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA) shed 4.94% or 320 points to 6160.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 335 to 52 and 25 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 3.59% or 1.73 to $46.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.02% or 1.73 to hit $55.51 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.25 to trade at $1259.65 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was up 0.18% to 3.7682, while EUR/ILS rose 0.56% to 4.3027.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 96.148.
