Israel shares higher at close of trade; TA 35 up 0.28%

Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Biomed sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.28%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA), which rose 4.11% or 125 points to trade at 3166 at the close. Leumi (TASE:LUMI) added 2.25% or 56 points to end at 2547 and Strauss Group (TASE:STRS) was up 1.17% or 120 points to 10380 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Paz Oil (TASE:PZOL), which lost 2.22% or 1140 points to trade at 50320 in late trade. Liveperson (TASE:LPSN) declined 1.78% or 175 points to end at 9649 and Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA) shed 1.33% or 300 points to 22220.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 170 and 34 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.73% or 1.58 to $59.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.15% or 1.38 to hit $65.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.55 to trade at $1417.15 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was down 0.23% to 3.5894, while EUR/ILS fell 0.01% to 4.0878.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 95.593.
